Chemical Stressors~ Water

I always joke in our health talk that I could probably talk for a whole hour just on chemical stressors, so what I’m going to do a break down of chemical stressors to look out for in this modern world which some would say is like we are living in a toxic pond.

We won’t change our health unless we start to take back the power in terms of what chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis. There is so much in our external environment that we need to be extra aware of what we put into and into our body. I’ll do my best to guide you in the right direction for living a lower tox life.

  1. Chemical Stress- WATER

Adults are 72% water and children even higher. Up to 12 cups of water is lost daily through normal bodily function and must be replaced. To do this we must hydrate.

To hydrate we need the right water.

But what is the Right Water?

What are the properties of water that support ‘life’ including vitality and wellbeing? The result:

  • Toxins, contaminants & chemicals must be filtered out

  • Must contain a balanced range of alkaline minerals for absorption by the body

Plastic Bottled water reasons to NEVER drink again

1. Plastic bottles are not sustainable, no matter what we've been told.

Using vast quantities of fossil fuels and water, these bottles are manufactured, filled, and shipped around the globe. (Not a good carbon footprint!) Neither are bottles biodegradable in any meaningful way: what you drink in a few minutes can stick around for a thousand years.

2. Many bottled waters contain toxins, even if they've nixed BPA.

Plastic isn't just bad for the planet. It’s not good for you, either.

Bottled water companies increasingly use BPA-free plastic, but laced into plastic bottles are other chemicals that can seep out if bottles are exposed to heat or sit around for a long time. Some of these chemicals are possible endocrine disruptors. No one knows for sure what the health outcomes are. Do you really want your body to undergo that experiment?

What can you do???

Start out using your own bottles (Glass or Stainless steel)

And at home I use the Zazen Water filter system for filtered drinking water and a shower filter for chlorine in the shower. (If anyone is interested contact me I can hook you up)
